Lenexa City Center Hospital – AdventHealth
AdventHealth returned to Henderson Engineers and the design and construction team for their newest facility, Lenexa City Center. With the South Overland Park hospital serving as a prototype, we applied lessons from the previous project to address design nuances proactively, such as coordinating with the kitchen and medical equipment consultants to avoid major changes later in the schedule. Throughout the design process, our team engaged in budget review meetings with the OAC team and completed cost-savings evaluations to ensure the project remained within budget.
The five-story, 96-bed healthcare facility offers comprehensive diagnostic treatment services including labs, pharmacy, computed technology, cardiopulmonary, emergency department, operating rooms, cath lab and interventional radiology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, prep/recovery, and a post-anesthesia care unit.
The patient-centered design strategy prioritizes occupant well-being, while capitalizing on flexible, energy-efficient electrical systems. Key features of the central plant include new medium voltage utility distribution, step-down transformers, and expandability for future additions, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
