Ice Family Basketball Center – Kansas State University
Henderson Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire and life safety design services for this 60,000 SF, $20 million basketball training facility at Kansas State University. The two-level building consists of two basketball courts, showers, locker rooms, lounges, a weight room, training room, hydrotherapy room, laundry facilities, film rooms, offices, and conference rooms to accommodate the men’s and women’s basketball teams and staff.
The building also includes a large boardroom and lobby available for special functions. In addition, a unique feature includes the design of an under-floor heating system to serve the two-story glass and the two snow-melt systems which serve two 2,500 SF exterior stair areas. The stand-alone building is located adjacent to Bramlage Coliseum and will be a prominent fixture on KSU’s campus.
