Henderson Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, architectural lighting and security design services for this $35 million new AAA minor league baseball stadium. Southwest University Park, is home to the El Paso Chihuahuas, an affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Located in downtown El Paso, this phased project includes a new ballpark with fixed and berm seating for approximately 10,000 patrons, suites, club lounge, restrooms, concessions, press box, administrative offices, locker room facilities, training area, weight room, two team retail stores and indoor batting tunnels. This project has received several accolades, including Baseball Digest’s 2014 Best New Ballpark of the Year and was the first minor league ballpark to be LEED Gold Certified.
