HEI Project Profile - Long

KIPP Academy of Innovation is home to nearly 500 students. The school features 16 classrooms, as well as spaces for music, dance, art, and robotics. There are also two special education rooms, a double-height, multi-purpose room, and administration offices. Because of the variety of learning spaces, the KIPP Academy of Innovation needed a mechanical system that provided zoning and flexibility for different spaces. As a solution, Henderson Engineers utilized a variable refrigerant system with a dedicated outside air unit that also works with the project budget, projected utility costs, and future maintenance needs of the school. We’re helping design a collaborative learning environment to help students stay ahead of the class today, and get the skills, habits, and characteristics they need, for success tomorrow.
