HEI Project Profile - Long

Located in Overland Park, Kansas's second‑largest city, Prairiefire is a 60‑acre mixed‑use destination built around a unique cultural anchor - the Museum at Prairiefire. The development blends retail, office space, a boutique hotel and spa, residential living, and outdoor amenities into a walkable community. With five parking garages, shared gathering spaces, and a three‑mile nature walk, Prairiefire offers something for everyone. Designed to be both entertaining and educational, Prairiefire brings together dining, shopping, culture, and recreation in a way the whole family can enjoy, making it a go‑to destination for all ages. Henderson Engineers provided design services for Phase I and Phase II, delivering core and shell engineering for more than 10 buildings across the development. Our team also supported several key tenant improvements, including: • Cinetopia: an 80,422 SF, 17‑screen theater with kitchen, bar, and concessions • Fresh Market: designed as a European‑style gourmet grocery experience • Coco Bolos: a Manhattan‑based cantina known for its authentic New Mexican cuisine and live music
