Originally completed in 2002, the arena is a multi-purpose facility serving the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, the WNBA’s Stars, the AHL’s Rampage, and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, and has hosted more than 10 million guests for concerts and events. Henderson Engineers provided engineering services to support the modernization of the arena and the addition of new amenities. The scope included sports lighting upgrades for the seating bowl, along with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for expanded VIP entries, the main entry, offices, and the team store. Renovations to clubs, restaurants, and bars incorporated new and upgraded systems to support expanded food service equipment and updated layouts. Additional improvements included concourse lighting and concessions upgrades, as well as infrastructure enhancements such as a new water softener, domestic water heating modifications, and electrical redundancy upgrades.
