Opened in 1980, the Yuengling Center underwent a complete renovation to meet the university’s needs as a multi-purpose arena. The renovation included a new seating bowl which increased the seating to 10,200 spectators. New key components included new locker room facilities, a student club, and a courtside court on the event floor level as well as a premium seating club integrated into the new seats along the north side of the arena on the concourse level. Major improvements to the facility was a new smoke evacuation system, sound system upgrades, new center hung scoreboard and video screen, new elevator, concession stands, restrooms, and player and spectator support facilities.   Project achieved LEED Silver certification.
