On a mission to expand its programs and reach, the Moncrief Cancer Institute, affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical, marched on to build a new center on four acres within the medical district of Fort Worth. Henderson Engineers was brought on to provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design to the facility. Housing cancer education, screening, and support services for the Moncrief Cancer Institute, the new four-story building also features administrative offices, research, and public education spaces. It holds Moncrief’s newly created Community Survivorship Clinic, which supports cancer patients during and after treatment and provides follow-up services. Healthcare-related specialty equipment within the project includes digital mammography and small-scale laboratory equipment consistent with a clinic environment. Outside space includes surface parking and an exterior pedestrian plaza.
