Located on an 80-acre parcel, the construction of the new manufacturing facility represents an investment and alignment with Viega's sustainability goals, which include reducing the carbon emissions associated with importing products by manufacturing more items in the U.S. The new facility will be completely carbon neutral from the start, supporting the company's long-term goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions for all their plants by 2035. We provided sustainability consulting services for Viega's new manufacturing plant. Henderson supported the Viega ownership team in early planning and design phases by exploring multiple strategies and tactical pathways to achieve a net zero operational carbon facility that aligns with Viega's larger long-term goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions for all their plants by 2035. The team explored both demand-side reductions like energy conservation measures that mitigate greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions as well as supply side solutions like on-site and off-site PV options, on-site energy storage solutions, and financing mechanisms directly impacting carbon emissions for short and long term capital planning.
