Karl Caouette
CPD
Plumbing Technical Director
Karl began his career as a plumbing designer in 1997. Since then, he has played a huge role in downtown Los Angeles’s vertical renaissance, overseeing the plumbing design for both new high-rises and the adaptive reuse of buildings into mixed-use developments and hospitality. His passion to stay up-to-date on the latest standards, code regulations, new technologies, and expertise for troubleshooting design issues makes him a solid resource.
Before joining Henderson Engineers, Karl did his due diligence and read through an overwhelming number of employee reviews about the company and CEO. From there, he knew that this was the firm he needed to be a part of. Since joining us, Karl has made a tremendous impact as a senior plumbing designer to plumbing technical leader and now as our plumbing technical director. There are many things he enjoys about his role but at the top of his list are mentoring, training, building company standards, and building relationships. He finds it rewarding to teach younger engineers and designers about plumbing fundamentals. Karl continues to make an positive effect on the industry through his involvement with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and American Society of Plumbing Engineers Los Angeles Chapter. His past ASPE Board of Director positions include Treasurer, VP Legislative, and VP Technical Positions.
