Henderson Engineers Celebrates 10 Years and 2,000 Projects by Refrigeration Group

LENEXA, Kan. — The Henderson Engineers refrigeration group recently celebrated 10 years and 2,000 successfully completed projects. The group officially started in 2009 following a request from the nation’s leading retailer in need of refrigeration services. With a history of designing refrigeration systems, the creation of this dedicated group was a logical next step. Today, several of the professionals who were part of the original Henderson refrigeration team, have grown into leaders, mentors, and some of the industry’s most trusted experts. Over the last decade, Henderson’s refrigeration group has grown to be highly regarded in all facets of refrigeration design, including pipe sizing, valve sizing, evaporator sizing, overall system compliance, construction drawings, energy management drawings, prime consulting for equipment replacement, age and condition scopes, refrigerant analysis (HFC, HFO, natural), energy efficiency analysis, refrigeration electrical design, and refrigeration commissioning. “Our refrigeration group is a microcosm of what Henderson Engineers is all about — providing quality work, outstanding customer service, and good value,” said Tony Welter, director of refrigeration and a Henderson vice president. “What started as a response to a single client’s need has grown to impact every grocery client we work with — a list that includes some of the largest brands in the industry.” Following the official request to assemble a refrigeration group, leaders of the new team — including Welter and Andrew Knight, fellow vice president — implemented processes and efficiencies for these specialized projects, and established a training and mentorship program for new team members.
