Henderson’s Takeaways from 2024 Vanderbilt Healthcare Design & Construction Symposium
Team Henderson attended the 18th Annual Healthcare Design & Construction Symposium, hosted by Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering, on August 7 and 8. The event was a great opportunity for designers, contractors, and owners to discuss current and future topics surrounding healthcare operations and construction.
This year’s gathering was centered on the theme of “SEE, now ACT (Access, Community, Technology),” highlighting the importance of balancing outcomes with solutions:
- Access – Championing accessibility of healthcare to all, and the importance of providing healthcare opportunities to rural and urban communities through both inpatient and outpatient buildings that allow quick and easy access.
- Community – Expanding healthcare opportunities while being cognizant of cultural and generational influences that impact healthcare outcomes.
- Technology – Allowing for the expansion of existing and new healthcare technologies while maintaining an enhanced human touch as well as the expertise that comes with healthcare professionals.
