Kansas City-Based Henderson Engineers Selected for KCI Airport Design Team

LENEXA, Kan. – On Wednesday, Henderson Engineers was selected by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) to be the engineer of record for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design at the new single terminal that will be constructed at Kansas City International Airport. The project is being delivered by Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate; SOM is the lead architect for the new terminal; and construction will be led by the Clark Weitz Clarkson joint venture team. Henderson was one of 14 local businesses selected for the project and will also provide fire protection, security, and technology services for the innovative airport that was overwhelmingly approved by Kansas City, Missouri voters on Nov. 7. “We are proud to be part of the design team for the new single terminal at KCI,” said Henderson Engineers President & CEO Rich Smith. “We look forward to partnering with Edgemoor, SOM, and Clark Construction on this transformational project for our city.
