HEI Project Profile - Long

The Hilltop Learning Center'searly childhood education center and professional development campus is designed for kids ages 3-5 who need special education services. The curriculum respects different learning styles and uses groups and play centers to teach kids skills they need for kindergarten and beyond. Henderson Engineers provided the systems design for new indoor/outdoor play areas, a playground, restrooms, and administrative offices. We added smart boards, docking stations, overhead projectors, and audio-video racks to classrooms, and provided multiple teaching walls to give teachers flexibility. Child-friendly baseboard heating systems were used for supplemental heat. Also, Henderson enhanced air quality in learning areas with displacement-type air diffusers. ADA-compliant sound reinforcement and assistive listening systems were added to make it easier for kids to hear and learn. Conference and training rooms, multipurpose rooms, and ancillary areas were also added to make the Hilltop Campus an available resource for special events and community meetings.
