05/2019 JBD added but waiting for PM to bless rewrite   Clemson University’s athletic department wanted top of the line amenities for both their fans and basketball teams - leading to major renovations and upgrades to Littlejohn Coliseum. The upgrades to the 50-year-old facility will feature a new interior layout and design that will be extremely media-rich. To enhance the fan experience, a new scoreboard, ribbon display boards, and greater WiFi capabilities were all added as well as increased premium level seating — from 40 up to as many as 500 seats. In addition to a renovated arena, the upgrades included a newly attached basketball operations center, Swann Pavilion, with new NCAA regulation practice facilities. Swann Pavilion includes coaches’ offices, weight room, sports medicine area, player’s lounge, larger locker rooms, and video and theater areas - consolidating all staff and athletes’ functions under one roof. New hospitality space included a new grand entrance, Burton Gallery, and Clemson Courtside Club. Burton Gallery added 10,000 SF of special event space which is also available for use on non-game days. Henderson Engineers redesigned the existing building systems to accommodate the renovation and additions.
