The once vacant 13-story historic Case Hotel underwent a significant transformation to become the four-star, boutique Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel. Located within the Historic Broadway Theater District, the Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel is an activator in bringing new life to the area. The hotel features new restaurants and bars including LA’s next trendy rooftop bar complete with an epic skyline view of DTLA. The hotel also has a presidential suite with an indoor swimming pool on the 7th floor. Built in the mid-1920s, this Renaissance Revival-style building is a historic-cultural monument, rich with history inside and out, and was originally the home of the Commercial Club of Southern California and YWCA Job Training Corps. Due to its historic nature, Henderson Engineers knew that designing a new VRF HVAC system would be tricky. Henderson worked with the contractor to design a solution that maintains the historical integrity of the building and integrates with the architect’s design. Rendering courtesy of Shimahara Visual
