Jenison Performing Arts Center Auditorium – Jenison Public Schools

The Jenison Public School District has shown a commitment to providing outstanding arts and music education that has earned the district recognition from the Washington Post, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and the GRAMMY Foundation. When it came time to build a new, free-standing, 1,200-seat performing arts auditorium for their award-winning band, orchestra, choir, and theater programs, Jenison Public Schools called on Henderson Engineers.

This state-of-the-art auditorium features an upstage orchestra pit, along with upstage balconies to accommodate large choral groups. The width of the oversized proscenium opening and orchestra shell can be adjusted with movable side walls. A motorized overhead reflector adjusts the proscenium height for optimum acoustics for all event types. Henderson provided acoustical design and noise control solutions and helped design a custom sound and video projection system for the unique space.
