University Health Behavioral Health Recovery Health Services provides comprehensive treatments to patients facing various psychiatric conditions and/or substance use disorders in the greater Kansas City region. In 2022, they began a complicated renovation project and brought Henderson Engineers to the project team to update their existing building systems. The scope of work includes approximately 18,000 SF of heavy renovation work to three stories of an existing building. Existing systems are original to the building and not adequate to serve the renovation. The project scope includes demolition of nearly all existing systems and the design of new mechanical systems, electrical service and distribution, domestic water, manual fire alarm system, and telecommunications services. New structured cabling, nurse call, access control and security systems are also being provided.
