HEI Project Profile - Long
Focusing on the fan experience and student athletes were key in the modernization of this 1923 facility. The project improved the south end zone of the stadium with a new 83,198-seat bowl, enclosing the bowl by connecting the east and west stands of the stadium. This added 8,000 seats, additional concourse space, upgraded restrooms, suites, and concessions. In addition, a new football operations facility was developed for athletes, as well as a fan plaza with a shading structure and additional fan amenities, including a 7,876 SF video board. At the time of opening, Memorial Stadium boasted the second largest video board in the nation.
