Henderson Engineers Opens Nashville Office

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Aug. 1, 2019 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Henderson Engineers, a national building systems design firm with more than 800 employees nationwide, officially opened an office in Nashville under the leadership of Russ Carter, PE, who will serve as director of Nashville operations. The Nashville location opened Aug. 1, becoming Henderson’s 12th office in the U.S. The office will include staff from both Henderson Engineers and Henderson Building Solutions, a subsidiary of Henderson Engineers that focuses on turnkey engineer-led design-build and commissioning. Carter joins Mike Harvey, construction manager for Henderson Building Solutions. Henderson has been serving clients in Tennessee since 1992. “We are thrilled to expand our nationwide presence with an office in Nashville where we have longstanding client relationships,” said Rich Smith, president and CEO of Henderson Engineers. “Nashville is a great fit for our culture and will provide a lot of growth opportunities for our firm. Russ has a fantastic reputation in the industry and brings the right mix of technical expertise and client service focus we wanted to lead our local team.” Carter is a local AEC veteran who brings two decades of leadership and project management experience to his new role. Carter was a senior mechanical engineer for I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc. for 18 years, specializing in mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas design for healthcare, commercial, education, and institutional facilities. Most recently, he served as a senior project manager and chief mechanical engineer for Edmonds Engineering. Carter is LEED AP BD+C accredited and an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), ASHRAE Nashville Chapter, and National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). “I am excited to join Henderson Engineers and help lead the team in Nashville,” said Carter. “This is a tremendous opportunity to continue working in a city I love with a company I admire.
