Stephen & Denise Smith Student-Athlete Performance Center – Middle Tennessee State University
The new Student-Athlete Performance Center at Middle Tennessee State University is a three-story facility connected to the existing Floyd Stadium and designed to elevate athlete performance, wellbeing, and daily experience. The center includes a nutrition bar, hydrotherapy and sauna areas, training spaces, a player locker room and lounge, laundry, video editing rooms, and conference spaces for team and position-focused meetings. These features give student-athletes direct access to the tools, recovery environments, and support spaces they need to train effectively, prepare for competition, and build team connection. The top level offers a premium dining and bar area with patios overlooking the stadium, creating a dynamic venue for events, galas, and university gatherings that further enrich the athlete and fan community.
Security services for the project included strategically placed video surveillance and access control throughout key areas of the facility. Henderson Engineers carefully coordinated surveillance rough-ins with the university to ensure proper coverage at transitions between public, athlete, and staff zones, supporting safe movement and secure operations across the center.
