Sun Devil Fitness Complex Polytechnic – Arizona State University

Henderson Engineers provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for this 60,000 SF fitness and health services center. Located at the ASU Polytechnic campus in Mesa, this CMAR project includes a 3-court gymnasium with basketball courts, a jogging track, strength and cardio rooms, stretching and group exercise area, bike cooperative with repair station, racquetball courts, pool, a student health clinic, classrooms, child care and administrative space.

 

The MEP systems consists of custom air handling units with fan arrays for 100% redundancy, demand control ventilation with solar thermal hot water system for domestic water heating as well as for the outdoor pool heating, hot water heating utilizing high-efficiency condensing boilers, reduce water flow plumbing fixtures, dual flush water closets, high-efficiency condensing boilers, energy efficient fluorescent lamps and fixtures and daylight harvesting systems with high-efficiency sky lights.
